It's been a while since I really looked at Yahoo and what makes its results tick, and I must say I'm a little confused by what I'm seeing today. What exactly do they care about anymore...?

I have a site that's listed in the Yahoo Directory, listed in ODP, has a bunch of good inbound links from relevant, older authority sites (all one-way links, no exchanges whatsoever). Essentially it's a good clean site with the potential to rank pretty well, but aside from a #3 for one of our phrases, most of the positions are >100, even 200.

The only factor I can think of that would/could count against it is the age of the domain. Is Yahoo giving a lot of weight to age these days?

Thank much!

Basically, I think Yahoo needs to look for someone with some brains to start a good search engine. They are, truly, the worst search engine anymore. Maybe they should give it up and get Google's results back? Or, heck, even MSN is better anymore than them.

So, really, there is no way to tell with Yahoo as garbage seems to dominate Yahoo to be sure.
