Not to mention the tight integration with all of the services they offer. I was able to buy a house, find a mortgage, hire contractors, movers, buy a mower, find some yard sales, buy a weed eater & some furniture as well as shop my insurance rates and get a quote on 2 bathroom rennovations all in the Yahoo network.
Hats off to you, saved me time & money and it was hassle free :)
I think googles focus on contextual advertising has saturated its own index with fluffy content that only exists to satisfy advertisers
Until they sort out crawling they are a second or third rate engine.
As a webmaster/seo: they're indexing my pages within days, much faster than any other SE. I started getting traffic from Yahoo within a week of making my most recent site live. Simply fantastic.
As a user: I've had an email account with them for years and I use them for travel and movies. And they have far less obtrusive ads than some other SEs.

I think the point is that Yahoo is way more than just a search engine.
Google on the other hand gets far more attention, not only because they are "larger" than Yahoo, but also because they are far more secretive. There is good and bad in that approach.
