I launched a site a few weeks ago and its number 31 on Yahoo.
However, i can see that Yahoo hasn't visited it for a long time because the first few lines of body content that its displaying on its SERPs has been changed by me.
i am constantly adding new content, have a PR of 5/10 but no visit from yahoo....
I have sites in at least 30 different niches, and I have top ten rankings in Ask for all of them - and I get more traffic from Yahoo in a week than I've gotten from Jeeves in year.
If you have a niche that has lots of Adwords inventory, you just will not get Jeeves traffic.
I launched a brand new website and had Yahoo crawl the entire website in about 20 minutes after putting it online, and it was indexed in Yahoo about 24-48 hours later.
Just install Wordpress on your site, add the RSS to My Yahoo, create a few simple post with links to various locations on your website, and ping your blog. I guarantee you that you website will be crawled immediately upon you doing this. Time needed = under 10 minutes.
Does anyone know how long it takes yahoo to re-visit a new site?
From past experience... unless you have a directory listing, spidering/adding new pages is quite infrequent.
Sites that I own with directory listings get crawled daily... new pages usually show within 7 days.
