is there any reason NOT to buy similar domains and use a 301 re-direct? Is there a limit to how many domains that can/should be re-directed?

Question is how cost-effective it is.

If your stats show that it gets results, then it's fine. But there's plenty of other ways to spend that money.

Thanks Quadrille.

Is there a point at which i can be "punished" for too many re-directs?

I have to ask what benefit you think you'll get by employing a lot of 301-redirected domains?

Based on my experience over the past 4 years, Yahoo has no idea what a 301 redirect is.
