Does an Overture Sponsored Link Increase Your PageRank?

Hello!

I was just wondering if my company's web site decides to go through Overture (who handles Yahoo! and MSN's [among others] paid placement advertising) to be part of the sponsored links that appear at the top and to the right of the search results page, if this in turn will affect our page rank within the general search results?

as well, does anyone have more information on Yahoo's Sponsor Listings Submission, such as if this guarantees you a top position for certain keywords? I read that it is only for certain business...ours handles business to business as well as consumer to consumer. we're more in the technology market. would we be applicable? would this be a better approach than going through Overture?

Thank you very much!

Kind regards,
Harlequin

Very difficult to sort out what made the difference, but we saw a moderate improvement in our ranking at Yahoo when we got on the Overture PPC bandwagon. We saw a more distinct uptick when we put up a blog and simply added the RSS feed to my personal MyYahoo! page. I don't know how many of our mailing list (of 3000) got us on their MyYahoo! RSS at the same time, so hard to tell.

I would say that I do not think that the PPC Network will help with the natural listings.....but they call the shots.

I have seen minor tests with Google and Adwords and looks like there is absolutely no relation and even have separate spider bots.

So the only true is in a personal test I suppose.
