Hi, my page is a non-business, non-profit page.
I read before that you can submit to Yahoo Directory for free. But all I can find at Yahoo's website is submission for a review to list in Yahoo Directory for $299.

Can anyone tell me how to get into Yahoo Directory for freE? Thanks.

Good luck. I have not seen a site get into the Y directory for free in quite some time.

There is (or was - haven't used it in a while) a backdoor for free submissions, even into paid cats.

1 - Go to the Yahoo directory
2 - Navigate to the correct category
3 - Look in the lower right hand side of the page for a Submit a Site link.
4 - If it's non-commercial, you can submit for free.

I am a non-commercial website providing free information on topics under the "Business & Economy" category. So there is no option for me to choose "free submission".
Sigh.

I think you need to really figure out what's the correct category.

I've found the correct category. Just need to pay $299.
Maybe I should start a blog and list in under finance weblogs, then it'll be free.

Is it possible that the category that your site is listed used to be free but is now paid?

I recently took over all web duties at my company and we are listed in the directory but nobody knows if we have ever paid for it or are currently paying for it.

I created a photographic website on dec 2006 and is already on Y, for free. I use wordpress and a custom design. I then used a free submit tool available on the web (don't recall one), EVEN SO, the tool reported an error as Y didn't receive the submission.

I don't really know how am I on Y for free... I'm wondering if the paid submission makes any difference, as my traffic from Y is waaaay weak. Not as google.

Yahoo has the poorest search results at the moment and getting listed is nothing worth. Zero traffic comes from there. At least for a high quality publication like ours.
