Yahoo update again?

I have seen some changes After the April 1st update

Yeah, very odd what I am seeing in Yahoo.
It's as if they started an update, and half way through stopped.

What is seems that there is on each keywords just a group of sites how moved and a group that stay in the same position.

I think that the April 1st update was a very nice improvement but since yesterday morning it seems that they made some more changes and the result is really terrible I think.

This second update was just what the doctor ordered. In my sector they thinned out the spam that was dominating the serps and brought back the real sites.

I'm seeing much less spam now, I hope they keep these results.

in the serp results I am watching the spam sites stay the same at top position it is still look very bad

some sectors I watch had major movements (mostly good), others stayed pretty contstant.

I like to think they took the flood of spam reports they got after the 1st update and did some tweaking to improve the results ;)

Quite possibly. I know some blog spam sites suffered but haven't done the research to see if that's the issue. Could be spam reports, could be link analysis (other than nofollow), etc.

I have a shift in uk and dropdown for general search. I'm hosted in Europe. I noticed the same for some competitors. More value for hosting location?

for the keywords I watch it seems the blog spam sites are still there.
but some good sites with good content drop position any one see the same?
It seems they wanted to fix April 1st results but instead we got worse results

The second update was lower quality than the first, and the first was lower quality than what was there previously. Significantly more spam, sugnificantly less value to authoritative content.

I'm hopeful they will get concrete feedback from this update and see how it was poorly concieved, or at least poorly applied.

The yahoo search blog [ysearchblog.com...] has an email address specifically for feedback on this update ystfeedback [at] yahoo.com

Sending them feedback is the best thing you can do to help them improve.

Whats going on with Yahoo? Since Friday my traffic has fallen 75%, and the only traffic that is arriving for my main keywords is coming from Yahoo Ireland & UK!

Is anyone else experiencing this strange phenomenon?

Do you share links with a lot of UK sites? It's likely that our similar situation was caused by this. This particular site piggybacked a bunch of link exchanges, well one way actually, on UK related or commonly accessed by UK folk sites.

Perhaps about 5-8% of my links are from the UK. But I dont think this accounts for the situation. My sites are no longer to be found for the keywords on Yahoo.com, however my keywords are still effective for traffic from UK & Ireland!

I checked also results on yahoo.co.uk (for worlds search)
results there look better then the .com
can it be they tets results there?

Our listing have droppen completely from yahoo.
we were number one for most of keywords, now only in 2nd page.
Is is just the travel industry which is affected or others too.

I'm in the construction industry and it's garbage, utter garbage for anything I seek with so many scraper sites. The UK site is a little better but nowhere near what it should be.

For one of my keywords my testbed site is ranked 7th and it's never been submitted anywhere and has no incoming links either! Now I'm going to have to remove it before anyone sees what I'm up to.

I get worried when I can't see my competitors' results...or am I being paranoid?

try going to Yahoo UK & Ireland (http://uk.search.yahoo.com) and searching for your site using your keywords.

In my case I am ranked where I was a week ago on Yahoo.com.

lost many indexed pages in one site. Tim, can you tell us why, in general? No need to give away the Coca Cola recipe ;). Pages too similar, dupes, too many ads...?

i have tried searching in [uk.search.yahoo.com,...] same results everywhere.
I guess yahoo is trying to push its own travel everywhere.
