I copied a unique content from our home page and pasted in Y search box with and without "".
With "" our home page shows up about 45th in ranking. All the other sites above are spam sites who has either copied or scrapped our page.
Without it doesnt rankin first 50 resutls

We are not rankign well in yahoo for a while, can this be a reason?

thanks

Do most of your pages show up if you do a site search?

Yes they do. We have all of our pages indexed in yahoo. But when we try to search for our main keyword we are not even in top 500. We are ranking in top 20 in Google.

I started working with the company in Jan 06, I think they may have done something before that which may not be SEO friendly. But I have fixed all those things. Only thing which is remaining is the directory page with few links in it. (They used to do link exchanges) We do have 3 way links though.

Is that bad for yahoo?

When i search for our domain name, our directory listing show up on top.

What can we do to have yahoo list of pages in organic search. They have indexed them but they dont show them in results.

Yes, the way to optimize for Yahoo is spam.

Or you have thousands of links. No, scratch that, just spam.

We used to have 500K+ backlinks (don't ask) but none of them were spam, so we did not even break in the top 30.

Yet a website we were closely watching, had about 40K - all spam links - and they are still chillin in the top 5.

I honestly do not remember the last time I saw a #1 result on Yahoo which was not a spammy website...

I am guessing spamming will not be best solution, but may be i can create a seperate site and spam it to test it out.

I have sent this issue of mine to yahoo like 10 times but with just 1 reply which came in May 06.

We have fixed all the problem which we feel were there and its been 6 months.

Tim any insight in this issue. OR any yahoo Guru here who can give us some tips

Just dont get carried away when you see the results after the next update :)

It's a good back up strategy, if you get kicked out of Google :)
