These sites rank very well in all other search engines and SPAM, keyword stuffing etc are not an issue and the site is very spider friendly.
Has anybody else had this experience and how do you rectify a situation such as this?
Example - search for "hotels" for instance and you will discover a site that uses cross linking excessively and they rank #1 on Yahoo, Google, MSN and probably more! They link to other sites from every single page of every single site - why havent they been canned?
What is good for the goose is good for the gander. If they are going to penalize one site for something they should be penalizing ALL sites for it - specially when it is that obvious.
Linking has been and always will be a good thing. There is nothing wrong with providing your sites visitors with links to beneficial information. Give me proof that sites are being removed because of linking and I will eat my shoe!
I do not believe its a cross linking penalty.
My site dominates MSN/Google for very competitive keywords and has tons of unique content updated often.
I did however find 400 sites in yahoo containing my exact homepage text. These are 302 sites and Scraper sites.
This sounds like a dup filter issue. I also think that Yahoo's method of dealing with the 302 problem is far worse than Google's.
Google: Innocent until proven guilty.
Yahoo: Guilty until proven innocent.
Look around, thousands of sites have been hit. Hopefully Yahoo will respond and fix this.
My site has only the home page indexed now in Yahoo. The site was really starting to rank well, im gutted. I thought it may of been because i added Adsense but now im not so sure.
Thing is i found a directory thats using a 302 redirect to my site. If i enter that unique string into the Y search box my home page appears as the search result. Whats more alarming is the cache looks like this......
Below is a cache of
[am*$!.com...] (modified for obvious reasons)
Again if i enter say a 10 word unique sentence from the home page and search my domain it will show my domain in the results but the directories redirect in the cache.
Now if i search mysite:www.... i get my domain and my domain in the cache.
So maybe this isn't a dup content penalty it isnt a text book case like you read about, im not sure.
they remove me and i come back with another domain next month.
they are so weak and a good SEO can exploit there algo easy peasy
It makes you wonder why we bother writing pages and pages of quality content when this happens.
Im looking long term, a site customers can relate to, a known domain in the industry, top end resource for its market, its the attitude Ive taken after reading many posts from the respected members of these forums.
If 302's are a major issue and guys like that are doing that kinda stuff week in week out it makes you wonder if there is any justice.

YES same thing with our five (5) year old site! We were one of, if not the first specialized site in our niche. YET we are the ones banned when these malicious pieces of $hit scrap our site.
This is unacceptable!
your site is not showing any backlinks. try getting some sites that are in the index to link to you and i would not recommend submitting you site to the engine via their (so called) submit pages.
As for the main topic i have 2 sites with minimal dup content (legitimate, but dont think any algo could pick it up any way) one new (2months) one old (2 years) only the new one has lost indexed pages pages in yahoo. Both rank for all there keywords (but obviusly just the home page for the new one. Could it be that yahoo are implimenting a form of "sandbox" but allowing your home page in. Both sites have about 20 pages so its not the amount of pages either.
The site that has had its pages dropped has no signs of being 302'd, all backlinks are on diffent class c blocks, no sitewide linking. in fact the only other thing i can think of is that it was redesigned after initial indexing but am sure someone in here can prove that wrong.
