On Site Explorer listing of my pages I notice some old pages. How do I get rid of these - get them dropped from the cache?

I already added some to my robots.txt Disallow but that doesn't seem to make a difference so far.

G has the remove url tool but what else can be done here?

I have the same problem. Pages that are from Feb are still showing up in site explorer. I'm thinking it has something to do with the fact we are serving up a friendly error page. Going to try changing from a 404 to a 410 and see if that clears these rogue pages out.

sid560 -

I'm not sure blocking them in robots.txt would be the most effective way. Why not just start returning a 410 for the old pages or a 404?

That's what I did and that eventually got rid of pages.

lol - mind reader - that's exactly what we did yesterday. Changed our server response from 404 to 410. Hopefully that will flush the old crap out of the system.
