Yahoo inlinks

I've recently noticed that there are 2 adult sites that have inlinks to my site on yahoo.

that is, i do an inlinks search and 1 site (2 different links) appear. although i'd personally like to know why they've appeared, my main concern at the moment is that they may be detrimental to my site rankings in yahoo? does anybody have any info on this?

oh, and if someone might be able to tell me how i can get rid of the offending links that would be smashing :)

Thanks

E-mail them and ask them to remove it? :)

I really wish yahoo/google and all the others would add an "ignore an inbound link" function to their services or better yet add a new meta [ one good use of a meta ].
<META name="ignorelink" content="3x.whatever, triplex.whatever">

@albino,

i've been on to the site and looked through the page source but cannot find any reference to my site in there.

i'm puzzled as to how it's appeared.

Honestly, unless they're incredibly spammy or doing blackhat SEO then just because they're adult probably won't affect your rankings (at least it wouldn't with G, dunno about Y). If you can't find the link then maybe it's been removed and Y just hasn't updated yet, in which case you're in the clear. Otherwise, I wouldn't sweat it. 2 links from adult sites aren't going to hurt you. 2,000? Maybe :)

The old way of thinking was quite logical: since you cannot control who links to you, links to your site cannot detriment it in any way. They may not benefit you, but they couldn’t hurt you.

About three years ago (as I remember) this logic was superseded by google, and you could receive penalties for inappropriate inbounds. But really, logic has come to prevail again, and it's most likely now that it’s more about what portion or percentage of your inbound links come from bad neighbourhoods.

So as was mentioned already in this thread - don't sweat a couple of odd inbound links.
