Paying to be in Yahoo Directory when I am already in Yahoo Search

Hi,

I am already index well on Yahoo search (1st page for most of my targeted keywords).

So I am wondering what are the advantages of still paying to be Yahoo Directory. This is a yearly fee right? Will it help me a lot? Anyone can help answer this?

Being in the Yahoo Directory can help you or hurt you. Assuming you are accepted into the Yahoo Directory, they will write a description for your site. This description may become the snippet for your site that appears in the search results. If it is poorly written, your CTR could take a dive.

I had been in the director and feel that it might have hurt me, my ranking which was very high came down in Yahoo and I decided to remove me from the directory and asked Yahoo to do so.

Erku, did your ranking improve after being removed?

I'm asking because I have a site which uses the Yahoo directory title instead of it's own and I think it may be affecting it's ranking.
