Hi, I'm setting up a website for a friend in Ireland. She sells her services locally, but may also create a product to sell internationally. So I'd like to get .ie and .com domains.

My question is, what's the best set-up to ensure maximum exposure in Yahoo in Ireland and Worldwide? For example, should the site be hosted in Ireland with an Irish domain and the .com domain redirected there? If I host it elsewhere under .com and/or .ie will it show up in Yahoo.ie or Yahoo.co.uk searches?

Thanks.

Get both domains regardless; stops rivals and porn merchants getting them.

Then decide the priority audience - ie or international? - that will decide how you approach the SEs (ie which domain you 301 to the other).

I do not know how Y! does their 'local searches', but you'll need local details to do well - and they may have a local partner (eg yellow pages) that will prove a good investment.
