would yahoo search ban or apply penalty to site using yahoo directory listing data?

Things that make you go hmmm . . . but it does drum up some interesting ideas doesn't it!

Not certain about that . . . but if you were to think it through, most of the directory descriptions and URL's are submitted by the site owners and they could have (and most probably would) copied that content in their other directory submissions as well, so I doubt Yahoo's search algorithm's would be on the look out for attributes such as duplicate content in comparison to the Yahoo! directory.
