I submitted a site on Friday, and got phone call today. The funny thing is, site is not listed anywhere [no se no dir] and I used a totally different toll free number. I got a phone call from "Web Designer" who was interested in some sort of partnership. I asked him where did he got the phone #, he mentined the url and I was little bit surprised. While on the phone I immidiately checked the log of the web site and found above hits. The phone conversation lasted for about 15 minutes and I felt like this person is actually from FBI and is not looking for business partnership. But well with Gods Blessing, the person seemed very happy at the end. I asked him to fill out an online form, but I never received that form - instead after about 10 minutes I received a email from Yahoo confirming that my website has been accepted and will show in Yahoo............

I thought this experiance would be helpfull to other.

P.S...... that person seemed very polite and nice. I would easily bracket him as a gentleman.

(Edit) - actually 6 hits.

wow... I didn't think we were at that stage yet.

So you are saying that a NEW site, not getting ANY traffic was submitted to Y! bizex, and you think someone (possibly connected to the submission dept) called you to possibly verify your site? hmmm...

....only a matter of time before we all need switch boards.

One year ago March, this exact same thing happened to me and my site. I had been waiting to find out if the site got accepted. Got that strange phone call asking questions:

What is your business name?

Is this Mr. Heil?

Oh, okay. I found your site on Google and just wanted to tell you.

Talk to you later.

Not more than 10 minutes later I found the site in Yahoo.

This is totally new domain for one of my client, who already have a site listed at Yahoo. This new domain was creating for multiple listing - so for this purpose we had used different address ... and other stuff. Also just for the hack of it, I went ahead and recommanded to get a new toll free# [got that # forwarded to my new phone line]. Now somehow, this person is calling with the info for partnership. The funny thing is the web site actually has 7 pages of indepth info of partnership/alliances work - but still he wanted to hear all that from me! also he asked few questions and later on he actually asked me the offical name of the company owning the website. At that stage I felt little bit more supecisous and after checking the web site log [thanks to cable connection I can use internet at a extra fast speed] I became sure that the person is from Yahoo - as the web site is *not* listed *anywhere* and noone other web site owner and me are actually aware of the domain name and contact info [phone no.]. Well there is a slight possibilty that the owner might have told his sister-in-law about the new web site and his sister-in-law might have told her 10 other friends and each of 10 friends might have told to 100 others and so the web site might have become popular in about 2 days of being published - but I still strongly belive that the person has to be from Yahoo. As the web site had *total* of 6 hits for that day!

has anyone ever had similer experience? or anyone tried to submit multiple web sites at Yahoo and learned something new or old ! care to share?

Thanks.

I'm going to plead the fifth... I had a similar experience on my last bizex submit. 2 sites.... different sites that catered to a different clientele (...let's say one of them sold vanilla ice cream and the other one only sold chocolate.... and if a surfer looking for vanilla happened upon the site selling chocolate, they might get offended ... hence, I saw a need for two sites)

I got a weird call from someone who had apparently got my number from the whois, instead of off the site...I told them to hold and then gave them the number of the client.... all I can say was that it was weird... the guy on the phone didn't sound like he was looking for ice cream.... and when I saw your post, I wasn't surprised.
