Yahoo is testing a new front page

I just caught a glimpse of the new front page - they must be testing it this morning. Looks a bit cleaner.

They use a lot of

I've seen this come and go for me (IE). I took their survey and the new page stayed for a week or so. Other IE machines on our network never displayed the new page. I do like the new page.

Looks just like the Google search page, except w/o ads at the top, Y news about where Google news is and no Y! shopping engine links at the top (yet?)

Looks like it varies by search term, sometimes paid OV links do show at the top.

If they only show two across the top, it could significantly increase the costs and Y! revenue for those two top spots.

Search after search and I haven't seen a single ad across the top.

That could cost them click revenue since the ones on the right just don't do as well...

I think the most notable comment is that they are only showing 10 listings per search page.

Yahoo seems to be changing the results after you close the Yahoo page and go back to do another search.

I get different results on first search of the day. When I close the page and open it again it changes.

If cookies are cleared and you do another search it reverts back to the original search.

On first search a free site of mine shows for a particular search term and after I close and reopen search my site no longer appears. Clear cookies and do search again my site is back.

Same situation. I come up first for all my keywords in my city. Then, nothing. Back & Forth all day. What's going on? I just got listed in the directory today.

They are even updating My Yahoo page too: [my.yahoo.com...]

And a new more Yahoo page: [docs.yahoo.com...]
