Expired listings drop from Yahoo?

Has anybody experienced sites being dropped from Yahoo when the Pre-Yahoo Inktomi PFI listings expire? Particularly in cases where just one or a handful of pages were submitted but the entire site was crawled and indexed?

Just wondering whether to expect a few landslides or not, I've got a lot of anniversary dates coming up soon.

I have had a number of Inktomi PFI listings. I was informed at the beginning of this year that all of those pages would be honored until the time expired in all the search engines that used the Inktomi database except for Yahoo. If I wanted to get these pages into Yahoo that I would have to sign up for the site match program to get those pages back into Yahoo.

I decided to wait and see if I could get all of the pages into the free Yahoo listings. I did get all the pages back into Yahoo, but they do not list well. I just posted my opinion of how Yahoo comes up with their listings. You can find it at this address:

[webmasterworld.com...]

I personal am trying not to use the site match program, since you pay $45.00 per page a year and the $0.15 cents to $0.30 cents per click. It would cost me a fortune since one of my websites list in the top 10 in over 2500 keyword phrases and in the top 30 in another 3000 keyword phrases.

I only get 2000 visitors a day on one website, but I bet it would be much higher if I did sign up for the site match program. I also think that I would not make much money after I signed up. All the profits would go to Yahoo.

Just to clear up the pricing mistake

since you pay $45.00 per page a year

Actually pricing is on a Teir Structure.
$49.00 for the 1st URL in a domain
$29.00 for the 2nd - 10th URL in a domain each
$10.00 for the 11th + URL in a domain

Click fees are either 15cents or 30cents depending on the category.

Thanks Warren,

I see the prices have come down. I still hate to pay anything. LOL

Exact thing happened to me. Site was #1 for a year then poof, gone completely. Getting Y to respond to any inquiry is a miracle. Still #3 at G. Y has major issues to deal with. There will be more G's and Y's in our future and if we are lucky they might actually learn from others mistakes.

I had several hundreds of pages submitted through inktomi PPI. I've not subscribed to Site Match, all the pages are in Yahoo index now. (well - i've done a random check)

Pricing hasn't changed since the launch of the program in March 2004.

There have been a number of "promotions" run by certain resellers which have meant some people got inclusion at a lower rate than the "rack" prices.

It does pay to shop around.

I had used Marketleap to submit to inktomi in November of 2003 ... not even a year later I am GONE from every one of the engines I had paid to be included in!

To boot my marketleap ID is no longer valid ... Im certain that service was for a year!

Anyway - I recall receiving serveral emails promoting the new system "sitematch" they kept pushing it on me insinuating that I should transfer and/or upgrade if you will. I chose to ignore those upgrade notices and now I am gone!

It seems that their attitude is that if you dont want to continue paying for our product we wont give it to you for free!

Vanishing from yahoo is directly conntected to that PFI I did last year - I just knew then I was making a mistake - damn hind site is always 20:20 isnt it!

Its possible that yahoo inherited this ban list - if so maybe I still have hope of getting back in sure the hell hope so! As for marketleap terminating our contract prior to a year - I think I will go demand a refund - IN FULL!

ok - I have vented - carry on :)
