I have been submitting a site to yahoo for the past 9 months and still nothing. I submit about very other month (as per their instructions).
Is there a way to get them to notice the submission? I have tried typing in the suggestion box, etc. Nothing. I know they say it may take a while, but I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions. I noticed someone mention webmasterworldfeedback@yahoo.com. What is that for exactly? Can you suggest a site that way?
Site is non-profit, very localized to be put in a regional directory. Any Suggestions?
Thanks!
Do you appear when people search for the domain but it's just not ranking?
Does your site not appear at all?
First you need to determine whether the site is in the database. Then you have to determine if it's penalized (check inbound links and spidering).
With this data then you can get closer to understanding the problem.
The question is...
Do I even have a chance of being included in the directory without paying the 299? The site is non-profit, does not sell anything, has lots of content, and is fairly popular in it's niche.
I was just wondering what experiences others have had through this so-called "free submission."
And what is the exact purpose of the email address...
webmasterworldfeedback@yahoo.com
I really have no idea what sort of criteria they use, but think it may be a bit like the DMOZ where, these days, they only add sites that are unique and add something original, at least through the freebie submit. Just a guess, though.
1) if you have a site accepted to Yahoo! Directory recently, can you identify any specifics about it (especially if you own other sites that weren't accepted)?
examples: .org, some very unique info, largest in the category, other
2) Does having AdSense on your site automatically disqualify you from free submission to Yahoo?
Thanks
And if, as previously stated, a site that does get looked at or accepted, is it included relativley fast, like the site that was accepted in 3 days? Maybe we need to submit every 3 days then!
Actually, I would like to know what sets the sites that are accepted apart from those that are not.
Two questions:
1) if you have a site accepted to Yahoo! Directory recently, can you identify any specifics about it (especially if you own other sites that weren't accepted)?examples: .org, some very unique info, largest in the category, other
2) Does having AdSense on your site automatically disqualify you from free submission to Yahoo?
Thanks
Just to check I tried to upgrade the same site to a sponsored site and then Y! says it's not in the directory.
I tried the url-support email address & got no response, just sent another one.
Any suggestions for how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
