I am currently getting a "This page is currently unavailable" message when I try a search in Yahoo!

I am in the Canary Islands (Spain).

Anyone else seeing this?

Hey, saw this and wanted to let people know that we don't have a clear answer on this yet but that we're in the process of figuring out what's going on.

The problem appears to be intermittent.

It has worked occasionally over the last few days, but is not working again from here (Spain) today.

Are those of you in Spain talking about yahoo.com or an international property? If it's an international property, which one? The more details you can provide on this the better! They'll be very helpful as we continue to look into this.

We were having that problem in our office for a while here in the SF Bay Area...We couldn't access certain areas of Yahoo, including www.yahoo.com, news.yahoo.com and others but we could access search.yahoo.com, finance.yahoo.com and others.

It turned out to be a DNS problem I believe...We changed some of our settings and now we can access all of yahoo again.

I am attempting to search using yahoo.com (english).

My ISP is telefonica (who, directly or indirectly are the ISP for most people in Spain).

Try running a virus scan to see if your PC is infected with the mydoom virus. This could be a possible cause of your inability to access Yahoo Search. Let me know if this helps.

I'm in the US and was checking Yahoo today to see how my sites ranked. What a waste of time. More than half of my searches or going to next page of SERPS resulted in a timeout and the old dreaded "The page cannot be displayed" in Explorer.

Maybe some day Yahoo will be competition to Google, but my experiences with it have not been useful. That probably explains why Google still sends me 95% of my search engine traffic.

Still the same,
I don´t have any mydoom or any other virus..
Maybe from 10 times using yahoo serps only 1 works, the rest is: Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later.

Ditto here
Error 999, what's that, a call for the boys in blueż ;)
Wouldn't surprise me if it were a Telefonica problem, but they ain't in US or UK, or are they ;) (may the gods help us)

Didn't those Google people post an explanation on this?

If I recall correctly, it was related to the IP address of your ISP and was a protectionist measure aimed at preventing excessive search requests from the same IP ( I believe this was a feature of mydoom).

I had this happen friday, so switched to a proxy and found the problem had gone, the moment I switched back to a non proxy connection the problem then re-appeared.

Seems to have corrected itself since.

What's up? I am in the US and can't make a search on Yahoo in Explorer, big deal, but the email page won't load either. That is annoying. It works in Netscape and on all other computers. Only my computer in Explorer won't work, scanned for mydoom. What causes this?

Wow, yes. getting the same thing here. Can't access Yahoo mail, search or news on Explorer but can on Netscape.

Uh Yahoo, you want to people to use your stuff regularly.

<anybody having this problem who does NOT have the Yahoo toolbar installed?>

Don't have the toolbar here.
Don't have MyDoom.
Doesn't work in Netscape either.

Maybe Yahoo have banned a load of Telefonica addresses (my IP isn't static).
