how to get more traffic from yahoo?

I have seen that people say that they get nerly 10 % to 35 % from yahoo and yahoo is a major search engine.

my site generates nearly 3k referals from google everyday, but i am only getting 10 per day from yahoo.

Is there any other way to get on yahoo leaving the paid inclusion aside?

Hoping for quick answers for a yahoo newbie

Thanks

If you've got a good number of backlinks, and you use relevant links, you SHOULD do well on Yahoo. Even better, if your site is content rich, you should be able to get your subpages to rank well.

I had a few subpages on one site ranking well at one time. The way I got my rankings now is putting relevant keyword headers, with links to those relevant files on my home page. Yahoo is getting more and more strict - if you used cross-linking to get good rankings on Google, you will not do well on Yahoo.

First thing you should do is go to Yahoo and see if all your pages are spidered. If not, maybe use the submission tool or build a sitemap page.

Yahoo seems to favor on page a bit more than google does as well.

Heh, without any links, I'd be surprised if you were doing well in any engine.

Cross-linking is having a link to another site on more then one page on the linking site.

"what does cross linking means"

Using your own network of sites to achieve pagerank. Until you understand the answer to that AND possible risks associated, I would not crosslink ;). And agree with above - without any backward links, you won't be ranking well on Google or Yahoo.

You do need links but let's not forget
Yahoo seems to favor on page a bit more than google does as well.

i have links to my sites from my sites only

So that way nearly 10 sites cross link in a very good way. But i never asked anyone else to link to me.

Also i have seen that people don't link too much.

Thanks for those suggestions.

I will have to email certain persons in my industry to cross link.
