Hi group,

As I recently descovered the whole website building thing and designed my first site I was eager to get good Google results. Now that I have them I tried to look for my site in Yahoo as well.
I did show up a couple of weeks ago when I tried site:www.mysite.invalid as a search string, but this is no longer the case.
it seems they have completely deleted me from the results.
it is a commercial site and i tried submitting it
also i have links from sites that are listed in yahoo to my site

Anyone any ideas?

Dear Vampkae,

Well, it is usual behaviour of Yahoo. Check with only www.yourdomain.com in Yahoo and see any of the files is indexed in it.

If it is indexed then wait for some update, Yahoo will crawl your webpage provided you followed Good site developement of optimzation methods.

I too had faced this with one of my clients site, first it was ranking on top then dropped and took almost 2 months to get back in index and rank.

Check with this tip and let me know if it works.

i'm no yahoo expert, but it could be the fact that you use dynamic pages, with plantid as a variable. i think best practice says to do something like:

[example.com...]

if you do that, make sure to show 301s from the old pages to the new.

For the past month I was holding down the number 1 Yahoo spot for my key search phrase. Yesterday, for no obvious reason, the site took a deep dive: it's still indexed, but I have to go a loooong ways down in Yahoo to find any mention of the site at all.

The only changes I've made during that time are to add some relevant backlinks and content.

Any insight on this?

Addendum to my last message: Yesterday Google also dropped my PR.

I don't see any reason at all, but apparently Yahoo and Google see something that I don't.

Any help at all appreciated!
