I did a complete redevelopment of a web site. I changed file names, content, page structure, everything.

I redirected over one hundred of the pages to their new equivalent pages.

The problem is that Yahoo updated the content, but didn't change the file name. The old page was www.widgets.com/whatever.html and now it is www.widgets.com/whatever/1

When I look at the the SERPS it shows www.widgets.com/whatever.html, but the cached version is the new page.

Sorry, but it looks like Yahoo! jumped the Google ship a bit to soon.
They have had problems with all types of redirects for months and all they can say is "Were working on it".
Maybe they will have it fixed by Christmas, or maybe not...

Ok, I don't mind if they keep the old page names because they automatically redirect on request. However, I would be upset if it affects rankings. Does Yahoo rank the page by the new page criteria or the old page criteria?

did you just do a regular meta http-equiv tag re-direct or something different to get Yahoo to re-direct to correct url?
