I submitted my site at DMOZ (again), and got following message upon submitting the application:

"Once your site has been accepted into the Open Directory, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months for your site to be listed on partner sites which use the Open Directory data, such as AOL Search, AltaVista, HotBot, Google, Lycos, Netscape Search, etc."

So my question is, is AV still using DMOZ directory? If they are, it is strange, as I think they should be using yahoo directory.

Thanks

Maybe it is just an old communication.

The organic search results for AltaVista are Yahoo! Search Technology but with a different relevancy algo on top.

[altavista.com...]

That copy is *seriously* old and out of date.
