Hi all,

Im Marko, first post so hello :)

Im in desprate need of help regarding a paid inclusion into the Yahoo directory.

I tried to submit my site in their directory a couple of weeks ago. First time i fillled out all my details, pressed submit, then this error was stated -
credit card order : socket read error - Operation timed out

I then re-tried to submit my info, but the same thing happened. I then contacted by bank explaing about what had happend and they informed me that my card had been depited twice! I cancelled the transaction because no order had gone through(just to be on the safe side) but the bank informed me that Yahoo could still take the payment if it was requested..

I sent numerous e-mails to them and finally had one back syaing that the order had not gone through.. and to resubmmit my URL..

Now this moring Ive been contacted by my credit card company and Yahoo have again depited the card for alomst $600.. I have a travel site and i only wanted 1 entery.. that has not happened and they have took $600 for nothing!

Please can someone give me some good advice on who and how to speak to someone in Yahoo.?

Thanks for your time

Marko

I'm going to have to second the "or not" option... Yahoo seems quite unresponsive, compared to certain other search engines with which we are all familiar.

I've submitted a site through every channel I could find, and my follow-up requests were answered with a simple, 'sorry, we're very busy.' (Not a direct email quote, per TOS!)

Have you found anything out in the meanwhile?

Good luck!

Hi all,

Thanks for your help.

I managed to finally get to speak to someone in Yahoo and they helped me.

It took many calls to finally get through to the right department, but I found the person who I did finally speak to very helpful.. its just a shame that it took so long to sort out.

I doubt if id try again, as the whole situation become very stressful and worrying, but i suppose these things happen

Anyway thanks again

I did a submission in October that got billed twice, the first submit didn't take (some error came back) so I had to click again. It's a little glitchy it seems.
