I've had my boasting periods where my sites had gotten accepted for free and I too have posted saying that I got in for free. Its a good feeling thats for sure. Has anyone gotten in to the directory for free lately and how long did it take after submission?

Im sure Y! has so many pending submissions to the directory waiting for free so it is always fun to see who's gotten accepted.

EliteWeb,

Yahoo accepted one of my websites for free on 2004-02-19. It took maybe a month or two. Definitly not longer than three months. The site don't sell anything and only has AdSense on it.

I submitted my hobby site last Easter. Submitted it on a friday afternoon and was accepted next tuesday afternoon. Unless Yahoo! Directory departement works on weekends I'd call this an instant inclusion. Also I submitted it to one category but they added to two. :)

I have just added a sports site to the waiting list for a client today. Just have to sit back and wait. I have had sites gone live with in a week or so though.

Maybe they have editors sitting around with no "paid for listings" to review!

Now that might make sense

more than likely it was already in the pipeline to be spidered, don't give yahoo auditors any credit because from what I have seen they are quite befuddled

twebdonny,

So you mean a visitor might have suggested my site to Y! directory at some earlier point?

Spidered is for search, the directory queue waits for human review.
