Placing Overture Ads on my site

What's the Y! / Overture equivalent of Google AdSense?

Forgive my ignorance - but there must be a similar service provided by Overture for putting their content targetted ads on my site.

I can find out how to buy ads with them - who do they sell them to (and how to I get in?)

There is no Overture equvilant of AdSense. To be an Overture partner, you need to be a big player.

Not Cnet or BBC.co.uk big though - you need to meet certain requirements, but they wouldn't be too far out of reach for a good few AdSense publishers.

Not sure about ads, but 1 million searches per month gets you in as an affiliate most times. 2 million monthly searches is certainly enough.

People keep on saying Ad Sonar is the overture equivalent. I doubt this.

Yahoo doesn't want to fund competitors to build up content .. they want to be the destination. So unless you already are a destination, don't count on Yahoo giving you a piece of the pie via overture.

This article [imediaconnection.com] from August 2003 implies a link between the two organisations but other than that I can find no reference.

I've often wondered how to become a Content Match publisher. The Overture site [content.overture.com] doesn't do a great job of outlining the process.

It really only discusses the service from an advertiser point of view.
