Hi,

I've just joined Overture Sitematch and still waiting for approval.

What I'm not sure is how they determine the keywords for your site? Is that something editors fix or yahoo will use keywords meta tag? Or it's nothing more than a standard SEO?

Thank you,

Overture Site Match is not a bidding product - it isn't Precision Match (or Pay 4 Performance Search if you prefer).

You are paying to ensure your site is listed in the organic results.

Your ranking is determined by the relvancy algorithm.

To improve ranking, take advantage of the 48 hour refresh and optimize your site for the keywords you wish to target.

Repeat until you are number 1.

Good luck!

Thanks Warren,

so it needs a classic SEO optimiztion... Do you know if yahoo considers keywords metatag or not?

Thanks

Yes it does - but only marginally. Don't count on sticking a load of words into your keywords tag and expecting to get ranked well just through doing this. You won't!

Many people are saying that it is similar to Google pre-Florida.

I would really recommend taking advantage of the 48 hour refresh and see how you ranking on a group of selected keywords. And keep making smile measurable changes until you are in the position that you want.

Of course, you can only change on page factors.

Thanks,

Is that 48 hours refresh also means your listing will be updated every 48 hrs? or they will just spider..

Asking because my sitematch is now active. But it's still showing a week old site in cache and listing.

I've updated my site two or three times since than but it's not refreshed yet..

The 48 hour refresh means that your site is respidered on average, every 48 hours.

The updated site should then propogate through to the index.

I do not know how often the cache is updated however. Anyone?

The real test - to me - would be to ensure that your site updates are appearing in the index every few days.
