I have a site that we used to pay for in Inktomi.

At the moment, it's nowhere in Yahoo.

To rank it in Yahoo, I'm wondering if it might be best to drop it from Ink to get it into Yahoo's database for free?

Is being in Ink a disadvantage in getting into the Yahoo's database withOUT paying for SiteMatch.

Any experiences?

Many people who had sites listed in Inktomi didn't get dropped from the Yahoo! index on April 15th, because they had been picked up in the free crawl.

So there is no disadvantage of staying in Inktomi, especially if you are taking advantage of the 48 hr refresh and the reporting.

I had 750 or so pages PFI'ed with Inktomi. As of today, 11K of my pages have been indexed by the free crawler. However, I've also heard of sites that only had their homepage PFI'ed and are no where to be found. The key has to be having links that are regularly crawled.
