Indexing problems on Yahoo and Google.

How can I find out if a site has been penelized by Yahoo and Google?

Hello everyone!

I recently inherited the job of managing and optimizing a dozen portals. I was wondering if any of you would know how I could find out if any of sites have been penalized or have any judgments against them by Yahoo and Google. I have only been able to get a few of them indexed on Google and haven't been able to get any of them indexed on Yahoo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your time!

first you need to email them at the email addresses they give out....you also need to see if slurp gets your robots.txt and then moves on..as far as i can see thats one of the best indicators..others being having pages indexed but not showing for a domain name search..theres a whole wraft of indicators but nobody knows for sure what indicates what...there are also sme indexing problems..unless you get an email reply stating editoral judgement i think its just a case of some detective work and best judgement as to whether you have a penalty or not...
