We are almost there anyone think the SERPs will significantly change. Ill take a 4/14 snapshot to see.

Tim mentioned somewhere the changes won't be massive, just that they'll drop the Ink people that didn't pay for SiteMatch.

my inktomi pfi pages are still showing on yahoo. maybe it hasn't happened yet.

Only change I can see at the moment is that my main site, which had been showing up as an redirect from an advert, is now back with its own url - but #22 instead of #14. Blah. Looks like Ink still doesn't like me.

This is the only site of mine that still gets vastly more hits from Google than Yahoo/MSN.

Could they have diferents databases depending on IP?

Its strange, the 13th and the 14th I had one referrer from [search.yahoo.com...] and I am nowhere to be found.
Actually the words used for search was normal comercial words........
So, or they used google result for some moments, or there are diferents databases were my penalized site are back?'

Edited: Just got an click from yahoo.com (15/4) and when click on that referrerlink I canīt see my site,
so must be Ip-based?

Havnīt had any referers from yahoo (except images) since yahoo left google, something is happening....

Just seen they updated their images,
Before I had same images on google, yahoo, AV and ATW.

Now I still have 150 images in google, only two in yahoo and none in AV and ATW.......

Did they stopped use google? or did they applied penalizing to images search as well?

Edited: No they still have google images, only that you canīt search for them using your domain or company name..........if search for keywords they are there.......and in alltheweb, they donīt show domain for images...only the name of the image.

lol, my site that I submitted to ink has jumped 4-5 positions in my 2 top searches since yesterday.

I was afraid it was gonna get dumped altogether.

I'm seeing a few changes here.

I don't think the change has occured.

My hunch is the Ink submitted URLs and Site Submit URLs have a "...yahoo.com/click?u="http://site.com" string in the results URL vs. no "click?u=..."

No changes here in London yet. Traffic from Yahoo is much the same as yesterday. Having said that, the last two hours traffic from Yahoo is 703 visitors compared to 822 for the same two hour period yesterday, which is a bit of a drop. Will be watching like a hawk for the rest of today, but I would be very happy with a 14% drop in traffic from intomi being dropped (don't do SiteMatch and never will)

Well its 4/15. I have a feeling there is a large percentage of people who did not do SiteMatch in many markets thus drastic changes in the results.

Question is will they drop people all at once or slowly so people do not notice all at once. I forgot today was the 15th till i went to the post office with my bundles of mail and all the folks glared at me ;)

From what I can tell.....

Inktomi links have a line similar to the below:

[rdre1.yahoo.com...]

Native search engine results do not and look more like

H=0/*-http://www.yoururl.com/

Both would appear about mid-string.

I have noticed a *LOT* of my Inktomi URL's in the last 48 hours having "cached" and/or "more pages from this site" displaying in the search results. They absolutely did not have this as of Saturday when I checked them. Being in cache would *imply* to me that the Yahoo spider has visited them, and added them to a database of websites. Neither comment existed with just the Inktomi spider .....

I see movement in positions this morning. Some URL's that were #10 are now #2. And some that were #2 are now #10. Basic search engine shuffling - nothing to earth shattering.

Looking at the URL's, I also noticed the following on one of the listings:

[rds.yahoo.com...]

Note the "MI=sitematch" in the URL.

Thank you for your post. Yours is the first verifiable Sitematch listing I have seen. I have been wondering how to distinguish between the new Sitematch - and the older plain Inktomi. That certainly makes it simple.

Well...4-15 has passed and it appears my INK feeds are still in the same position.

I woke up this morning with one thing on my mind. "Is it still there?"

The 4/15 date never had anything to do with feeds. It had to do with th Inktomi Search Submit program which was for individual URL inclusion.

I thought the already paid for INK feeds would stop as of 4-15.

So 4-15 just means no more paid INK submissions? Site Match now is the option.?

Two of my sites fall into the category of being a previous Inktomi Paid Inclusion with links that have the form of [rdre1.yahoo.com...] and also MI=ss.

Both are still in their previous positions of being #1 and #2 respectively.

In other words, I can see absolutely no change for my two searches, yet I would have expected either one of two things to happen:

1. My sites would have disappeared completely after 4/15.

or

2. My sites would have stayed in their positions, but would no longer have those funny urls.

Since neither of those things happen, I can't help but wonder what, if anything, actually did happen after 4/15.

P.S. I did NOT sign up for site match for any of my sites.

Hopefully this will provide some clarification on the change that happened on April 15th:

As of midnight April 15th, Yahoo! Search stopped automatically integrating URLs previously included into search results as part of an Inktomi Search Submit paid inclusion program. This does *not* mean that all of these URL's were removed from the Yahoo! index on April 15th. URLs previously submitted through Inktomi's program may still show up in Yahoo! Search results in one of two ways.

First, it is likely that URLs submitted through Inktomi programs are already being picked up by the Yahoo! Search Technology crawler and are represented in the index separate from participation in a paid inclusion program. Second, if you choose to migrate to Site Match then your URLs will be submitted for review for the Yahoo! index and, if accepted, will show up in Yahoo! Search results.

There are two things to note. First, if you choose to continue your Search Submit subscription, while your URLs will not appear in Yahoo! Search results they will appear until the end of your subscription term on portal partners that were previously powered by Inktomi. So you will receive the distribution you originally paid for. Second, Yahoo! is very serious about combating Spam in its search results (some will argue that we're too serious, but that's for another thread). URLs considered by Yahoo! to be Spam will be removed from the index regardless of how those URLs first got into the index.

This does *not* mean that all of these URL's were removed from the Yahoo! index on April 15th. URLs previously submitted through Inktomi's program may still show up in Yahoo! Search results in one of two ways.

But surely it should mean that the format of the old Site Submit listings will start disappearing. I mean the MI=ss flag in the first redirect, plus the addition of the second *.yahoo.com/click... redirect.

I don't see any changes so far on Yahoo Watch. Maybe it's a matter of propagating these changes to Yahoo's servers.
