The site used to be on an ISP homepage (e.g homepages.domain.com/~myname/sitename), which now has a redirect to the true domain name. This occured over a year ago. The ISP homepage URL STILL shows up in Ink/Yahoo - BUT with the title and description from the true domain name index page?!
The actual domain index page (and all other pages) are nowhere to be seen in the SERPS. Its as if the domain has been heavily penalized. I had a shot at Ink PFI - but that did absolutely nothing (and arguably made the situation worse).
Anyone seen this? Any ideas? It didn't bother me too much as a I always ranked high on Google, but now that Yahoo have started mixing it up.... things are quite noticeable.
But has anybody actually made any headway with this?
PositionTech just gave me a lame excuse about not ranking well etc etc. But that doesnt make sense at all. I mean the site ranks fine in Google etc. So there must be some kind of penalty to not show up (about 30 clickthrus in 10 months according to PositionTech).
Would removing the page with the redirect have any affect?
