Can I add someones elses site to Site Match

to get credit for a link

I was just thinking of some reasons to do this.

1. Somebody added a link to your site from a good site
2. Sombody beating you no longer has that keyword in their title. This would get them out of the way because they would not rank any longer if yahoo updated their titel.

why sitematch? Add it to Inktomi and get them banned for life. Seems to work fine for the rest of us.

But just found this information for Inktomi, itīs from august 2004, an searchengine optimizacion site has this page, seems that not only submitted pfi got penalties:

You may submit as many as 50 pages from this page. However, this might take as long as two months to appear in the results.

If you are using the free submission program, you may find your web pages have disappeared from the search results within a period of one month. Inktomi allows new pages from the free submission program have a trial period.

It uses this period to see whether they satisfy the queries of the visitors. It measures the popularity of the free web pages by their click popularity. If the click-through rate is very poor, then the free listing will be dropped to provide space for other pages.

Most of the pages submitted to the Inktomi index via the add-url are low-quality pages. In order to ensure that only the good quality pages rise to a higher rank, it imposes a ranking penalty to the web pages added only through the free submission program

So if that happend to you, and didnīt have clicks Inktomi though would be good, lifetime penalty.......

end 2001 - beginning 2002 were when I launched my site, I surely did that submission........and since then the sites been a lot improved,
