When will Yahoo power Altavista?

Seems like yesterday it was the other way round

Remember guys when Yahoo! was powered by Altavista?
I understand that sooner or later the situation will be completely reversed. That's amazing!
Anyone knows when this will happen? Tim?

My understanding is that Yahoo is already powering Altavista. They are using Yahoo's database, but applying a few changes to the ranking algo so the results are more geared to Altavista's users, as they have different demographics.

That's a bit dodgy... so, it's like, white educated older men get different serps than, say young single mothers? Which kind of algo can decide what's best for a particular kind of user? I can't imagine how results could differ i this way. Anyway I've performed some searches and serps are so different that I can't find signs of Altavista being powered by Yahoo yet. Also I would expect a press release sooner or later

What about old PFI? Will my PFI pages get into Yahoo! new index?

It is still the Altavista Technology powering Altavista. Will let you know when there is a change. We will be differentiating the search results between Yahoo, ATW and AV.
