Is anyone else noticing significant changes in SERPs?

Don't know what a Y dance might look like, but this morn when I checked some SERPs I notice my main site has changed as many as 10 spots on a couple of single keywords since yesterday.

Anyone else seeing changes like this?

I am seeing about 4 different results. When I ping www.yahoo.com each result is from a diffent datacenter. I can not figure out how to perform a search from a paticular datacenter without it defulting back to the one that is currently serving me.

We've definitely been experiencing considerable (but intermittent) changes within the last 12 hours or so and seen two completely different sets of results on yahoo.com. Several members have also reported in other threads here a variation in SERPs over the last few days.

I have seen major changes...

I startet out with some ookk positions.

Then suddanly I was totaly gone and nowere to be found :-(

Then I was back with much better positions...

Then totaly gone again - then back stronger then ever...

etc... Right now I am back in the index.

Yeah ... just terrible stuff. Lots of repeated content from large sites. I am seeing the same AP news article over and over again for one particular term.

There won't be anything called a Yahoo "dance" since that referred to the results moving back and forth on different Google URLs and data centers. We're not likely to be seeing that kind of action from Yahoo and there won't be toolbar PR to watch, either.

Yeah, we slid from one to three, behind some weak spam, but we need to do some serious SEO soon. Can't blame Y entirely.

There have been alot of new sites added to the datasets dance or no. I picked up a couple hundred pages of free crawl pages in a 4 month old site. The new "Y" reminds me alot of the old "G" but without the PR toolbar and the "linking baggage" that came with it. Now maybe sites can link out when they think the outside content is a nice add and not because of the size of their greenbar. I like it already. :)

I noticed that sites that I launched in December are now finally searchable in Yahoo. Before today only exact URL would be able to locate the sites. Even exact search strings didn't work. Now the sites are well ranked. I don't know how often Yahoo updates but this is really slow. I have sites launched in January that are still not searchable, except for URL, where it shows pages from site. Yet searching for any unique phrase from these sites and the sites don't appear.
How does one check for an update? Has anyone had similar experiences?

From what I see a site goes through several stages:
- Not indexed
- Indexed but not in serps
- Fully indexed and in serps

One of my sites just disappeared after being on page 1 since Yahoo dumped Google. None of the sites above me moved at all. Is this a penalty?

Hmm just noticed my index page has vanished from both Yahoo and Position Tech pure search. Internal pages rank just as well as before. Also wondering if it's a penalty.

I noticed my site was finally indexed, although it's using a linking format I ditched about five months ago. Poor planning on my part that these links don't give the intended results, but the only way it could have got them is if they pulled them from an old Google index and ignored the fresh deep crawl results. Weird.

Marginally better than being utterly ignored past the index page though, as was the case previously.

I'm seeing more and more cross-linking spam and cloaked pages in my competitive areas. It's so bad on certain keyword terms that the first 30 results are dominated by the same company with 20 of the results.

Yahoo will never clean up spam with human-edited techniques... Learn from Google and use the power of machines to IGNORE links that are AFFILIATED with one another. It's not that hard to figure out sites that are affiliated.

I am seeing one set of results all the time now. Looks like things have settled for now. These results do not look like they are the newest. I saw one set of results a couple of days ago that looked fresher with more directory listings intergrated into the serp listing. Alot of sites that were in those results are not showing in the current serps. Some issues seemed to have been fixed with this update. It will probably take another cycle to get more sites back in where they should be.

I also noticed a big change in the directory keyword serches. I wonder if they are using the same new algo for directory serches as they are with the web serches.

Ive lost 80% off my traffic since March 18 because Yahoo dropped all my pages. I dont know whether Im being penalized or not or whether yahoo is testing out its serps with some new technology. For the last 3 days, I havent seen my traffic go up and yahoo hasnt picked up my pages either.. dont know what to do, my category is filled with spammers, ive 3000 keywords and all of them have the same 2 companies coming up...yahoo needs to go back to the results before march 18, as these really blow.

I've experienced the exact same thing with my site. We're still in the index (when searching for sitename.com) but since March 18th our site is no where to be found in the SERPs, even when searching for my own site name (sitename without '.com').

Thats because Yahoo is still using Google results to an extent and keeps switching data centers. One minute I can search "sitename" and my site pops up and then five minutes later it brings up nothing. When my site comes up by "sitename" it also ranks well for my keywords.
When it doesn't come up by "sitename" if I search sitename.com my google listing comes up.It has been doing this for at least 2-3 days now.

Try searching sitname on msn.com

Because my site is not found in Yahoo anymore since this update - and this site has never been in Google because of some penalty of some kind....

yahoo are not using google..
if they are, then penalized sites are not in serp,
check your stats.

I only have one and other from yahoo if they find me using image search, that yes could be google.

Yahoo is still displaying Google results. When I do a URL search (mysite.com) Google results come up for one of my sites. However, if i search (mysite) Yahoo results are displayed.
