Search for evil on Yahoo and you will get microsoft corp returned as the first result.

However, if you do that on MSN, the results are different.

I guess that gives the game away on some of Yahoo's more important ranking factors.

It also points a very sharp finger at the irrelevance of their results. Did they make the switch to their own technology and algorithms too quickly?
I certainly think so, if I had Alltheweb and Altavista to play with I would have worked all these bugs out on there, it would have kept my Yahoo brand name a bit more impressive ...

But then again, i don't own Alltheweb or Altavista, and there might be a reason for that! ;)

That's interesting, thanks for posting this, obviously they're relying very heavily on anchor text. Like someone else mentioned, Yahoo's version of Google's algo, without Google's spam and over-optimization filters. Niceee.

Look at Yahoo's number one result for "out-of-touch executives"

They appear to have fixed it. Now we know one way to get a fast response from Yahoo! ;-)

They appear to have fixed it.

Just a minute ago I still got Microsoft Corporation as #1 non-sponsored result on search.yahoo.com.

Datacenters out of sync? Deja vu all over again?

agree with you there, searching for miserable failure also brings much as you'd expect
