Yahoo's Overture Listings

Is it 2 or 4 per page

Hi Guys,

Can someone explain this to me.

If you do a search at Yahoo for "keyword keyword keyword" you will find 4 Overture listings at the top of the page and the 5th one at the bottom below the regular free listings but if you do a search for "keyword keyword keyword keyword" you will see 2 listings at the top of the page and 3 at the bottom.

Was it like that all along or is Yahoo switching things here and are now going with a 4-1 split rather than a 2-3 split.

Thanks,

Mtlinfo

And it seems nobody has figured this out yet, I'm guessing?

I tried a variety of searches and found this to be the case for many keywords. It seems to be based on how competitive the keyphrase is - the bigger keywords seem to have 4 ads on top, 2 at the bottom, while smaller 3 and more kw phrases seem to have 2 on top and 4 on the bottom.

Notice how #'s 5 and 6 in Overture get displayed twice in Yahoo serp's - on the right and on the bottom.

I think they're still testing this and trying to work out different ways to display the data.
