Beta Cache in Yahoo?

Beta cached results from Yahoo and the non-beta cached pages from Google?

I have been frantically testing mydomain.com at Yahoo to see if any of my sites are listed and I noticed that the sites that truly appear to be indexed have “Beta” on the top of the cache description. I still get results from typing mydomain.com, but they appear to be old Google results. Are the “beta” cached pages truly indexed on Yahoo and non-beta cached pages simply an old useless remnant from Google?

the cache of my site is labeled BETA too, and the cache is dated today. my site is indexed at yahoo and shows for my keyword.

maybe someone with a cached site not labeled as BETA can come to confirm your hypothesis

I am also curious why the disclaimer from Yahoo about some beta & non-beta cached pages reads “It's a snapshot of the page taken as OUR search engine crawled the web” on some results and “It's a snapshot of the page taken as our search engine PARTENER crawled the web.” Any ideas?

I noticed this too. It really makes you wonder if there are two indexes at Yahoo. 1) Inktomi's and 2) Yahoo's new one.
I still haven't seen the Yahoo bot in my logs but I'm keeping an eye opn for it.

For the sites I looked at the 'beta' cache was from Inktomi, and the non-beta from Google.

I didn't find a great deal of examples, but I only got the old Google cache when searching for a site which wasn't in the Inktomi index.

Another strange thing was that for one of the site's I checked if I searched for 'thedomainname.com' it found the site (via Google), but returned no results for 'thedomainname'. For another site both types of searches found the site (again via Google as the sites aren't in Inktomi.)

I'm not sure why Yahoo would be hanging onto some Google results even on the Y!nktomi serps, or what the exact cirumstances are that returns Google results instead of Ink.

i checked the cache of my site's index page and based on the cached pageview counter i'd say it's about 4 days old.

my access logs show a user agent of "Yahoo! Slurp"

it was also marked as beta

incywincy,

I am curious does your cache results read “It's a snapshot of the page taken as OUR SEARCH ENGINE crawled the web” or does it read “It's a snapshot of the page taken as our search engine PARTENER crawled the web.”?

the cache of our site shows BETA with this note:

It's a snapshot of the page taken as our search engine partner crawled the web.

As we stated in our press release we will be rolling out new technology over the next few weeks. This is the reason for the inconsistency that you are seeing.
