Ink results on Yahoo

Noticed on the Brandy thread that some have started seeing Ink on Yahoo. Me too! But it's not pure Ink. Does anyone want to comment on the differences? What I see is bunch of extra stuff in front of my listings :-(

I'm on the first page for a few things in Ink, but not on the Yahoo version.

My results in Ink/Yahoo are very relevant with or without quotation marks. I think the results are on topic and very accurate.

If anyone wants to see the ink/yahoo database in action go here and swap out (keywords go here) with your keyword, spaces between keywords does not matter. Make sure this string (&tmpl=E088) is on the end of your search before searching.

I like the Ink results.And they are not pure Inktomi.There is some difference in the pure inktomi and yahoo results which for my keywords is pretty good.I like the idea there to be another SE because since the last update the google results for some keywords are awful...

Are those that have seen YInk finding the results worse, better or the same as standard Ink results?

Some keywords are up and some are down. But isn't the more important thing that ink or Yahoo is finally coming online with a different set of results than Google.

What I like is that people will finally be able to find my sites for not only my main KW's, but now completely diferent word combinations more than one main search engine.

Ink for me at least is bringing new KW combos that I didn't previously think of, which in the long run means more and better traffic. All more reasons we need more SE competition.

Does "www.Yahoo.com" resolve to different IP addresses around the world and at different times of day like "www.Google.com" does? If so it would be helpful to know what IP address is being hit when Ink results are found so the rest of us can check as well.

For the first time ever, I now am seeing Ink results on Yahoo.com using an Earthlink dial up connection in Michigan. Apparently before getting the Ink results was limited to certain IP ranges. I have a feeling that soon it'll be Ink everywhere, and Yahoo will ditch Google. Google now has much more serious competition.

I've not seen ink yet on .co.uk but just out of interested when ink results are being showed is the "results provide by G" still their or the ink logo?

I have three windows open right now with Y! SERP's for the same kw search...searches done at different times on the same kw, then just kept the windows open.

I do see the G reference on a beta search (&tmpl=E088) that contains the INK results.

I also see the G reference is on a results page that was loaded an hour or so ago, that featured G's listings.

However, I no longer see the G reference in the window where INK results were live on Y! (this search was just done).

Feels like things are moving forward...

From e-mails, phone calls and stickies while it was happening, it appears that Yahink went pretty much global for about an hour from 1pm GMT until 2pm GMT on Yahoo.com.

Now it seems random again (I can't see it anymore without the "beta-tag").

It has to be very close now.

I hope we will NEVER see pure ink results that is absolutly the worst results. The result now is ok, so I hope it stays with a mix of ink and something els.

It went back to Google for me in MI for a while, and now it is Ink again. Curiously tweaked Ink, too. On the most critical SERP for my sites, one site is #1 on Yahink, and the other is #2 below it on Yahink. That second site is #4 on Pure Search. Needless to say, I really like these Yahink SERPs. ;)

Yep - back to Yahink for me in the UK too.

Some stunning surprises including a number 2 for a killer term with 85 million pages returned (some mistake surely)! Goodness only knows how many backlinks I'd have had to get for this in Google!

What ever the tweak to INK is - I love it.

Fortunately in my area the top ten is taken directly from the Directory so the ink trash doesn't start till the second ten.

Yahink was there for a few, and it looks good, better than MSN or Pure Ink to me, and it really makes me wonder just how much of ink will be left.

The most of my pages that I can find indexed on ink is 26 out of about 300 now. Yahink has 86 of them, does this mean a completly seperate database from ink?

With the additional pages, I do much better in Yahink than via pure ink or the msn version!

Then it went away, and I could look no further.
Bummer, bring it back please

What is the "Directory"?
Do you mean the Yahoo directory?

When you see different results on Yahoo! Would it possible for one of you guys to post the link you have in the browser

Ex: When I searched for cars, I get :

[search.yahoo.com...]

That link is still the old Yahoo we know. I'm pretty sure it's a different link when you get Inktomi or other results.

That way we will be able to test it.

Finally getting Ink results.... I think.

The little "powered by Google" is gone at the bottom of the page. But one site I have is nowhere to be seen. It is top ranked in Ink for many keywords.

I even tried just typing the domain directly into Yahoo but it told me it didn't exist.

So am i getting Ink results or not?

any ideas?

I certainly hope this is the case, Tim. Yahoo has been brilliant for 18 months, a switch to Ink would be dunderheaded. A switch to a technology that draws on all of Yahoo's assets would be outstanding.

For one thing, I hope we'll be seeing the results of Scooter's web crawling since it seems to be about 10 times more active than Slurp.

...I'm bummed... I paid for a listing in Ink and am not showing ANY listing in the new Yahoo. My domain doesn't even pull.

Are they taking some Ink and not others? anyone come up with any perameters for this selectiveness yet?
