Submitted to Y! on Jan. 4, still not on directory...any help?

I own a multi-platform gaming site. We submitted to Yahoo! on January 4th, under the free submission because I just don't have the $299 at this point to spend.

It's been over a month now and we're still not listed in the directory, as I check it daily.

Is there anyway to check the status of the submission, what's the general time frame (anyone that's submitted before how long did it take?) and is there anything I should do to make sure I get on. Resubmit, call a number, anything?

I doubt you will actually get a listing without paying the $299.

BTW - might pay to edit out the URL in your message - its against the TOS.

They don't list commercial sites for free anymore (or if they do, it's very very very rare).

If you don't have the $299 now to submit, I'd suggest promoting your site through Google or Ink as that would get you some exposure and help your site gain some revenue.

It's questionable whether a Yahoo directory listing is worth much, so you might want to reconsider and in the meantime, promote through Ink and Google.

I'll bet you a nickel there is going to be a run on the directory this year as Yahoo weights its serps toward it.
