Old post about this [webmasterworld.com...]

I have a site that I bought and I like that it already has a good Yahoo directory listing but the title has nothing to do with my site. I am number 3 for my money phrase but I have a stupid title that has nothing to do with my site. Can I get Yahoo to not make my title the directory title. If not I guess I have to get them to take it out of the directory. If I ask them to change it they will take it out for sure because it does not fit in that catagory.

Take it down for a day or two. Let them know it's 404 and they'll pull it asap.

If you're ranking for your money keyword, why would you take out the site?

I've heard of way too many people who, when they try to change the title of a free, grandfathered listing, get dropped and charged.

So either you drop it and then get the title you want, or leave it as is.

I once was got my title corrected for free after it was listed. I mistyped my title by 1 letter & he followed it. After which I got a mail saying my site was listed & replied to it directly about the typo, & he replied said " Oh, sorry & have a nice day."

But this was like a year ago & was on the regional side.. :)
