Expired Domains in Yahoo

Hi,

Say I've spotted a domain www.site1.com in Yahoo's directory and it has expired and I register it. If I assign the domain to my registrar's nameservers and they redirect the url to my old site www.site2.com which is a site with the similar content and same description as site1.com had, will Yahoo, in time, remove site1.com from the directory?

Also, if site1.com's old owner used express submission to get into Yahoo might I find that site1.com will be removed if he doesn't pay up every year!?
Is there any way of checking if a site was included using express submission?

Lastly, slightly OT but, if I use a redirect technique as above will google count the site1.com link in Yahoo as a direct link to site2.com from Yahoo?

Thanks,
MarcD

Welcome to WebmasterWorld MarcD, here are some responses to your questions:

1. It depends on the editor of the category. Some cat's they leave alone and rarely visit, others get checked more frequently. So it's a matter of luck.

2. I would suggest calling Yahoo and asking them about the domain to find out if they old owner used bizex. If they did, the site would get dropped after they didn't pay again, if they didn't, I don't think they'd delete just because you called.

3. If you use a 301 redirect, I've heard that the PR would be passed and would count for Google.

Hope this helps.
