different database for .com, .com.au all websites?

i found i am number one on yahoo.com.au (all websites) for a keyword, but on yahoo.com (all websites) i'm much lower down.

Surely all websites *is* all websites or does yahoo have different databases for regions?

I would have thought they would provide the same with the country specific filters sorting regionalisation out.

They appear to be using the same index that yahoo.com was using last fall.
