When searching country specific results only, how much relevance is placed on the domain name ending with the country specific domain rather than a .com?

it looks like my .com is being ignored despite being a country specific site.

Thanks

mr tim,

not sure whether you are referring to the Yahoo/Google results or directory results.

also if you are referring to UK Yahoo, then .co.uk is required for them and aol.co.uk if the searcher is requesting "pages from UK"

hope that clears something up.

Hi mr_tim,

As far as Google is concerned, they are looking for the language. There is some debate about the benefits of a local host ip, but my (limited) experience doesn't show this to be hurting me.

Hope this helps!

it was yahoo.co.uk web pages - uk only i was referring to. so my site with a .com despite being a uk site will not be in here. surely that's an all too basic method of showing uk sites?

thanks for the info
