I have one question for all you.. I used to run a certain website - sold it to another user who is going to use it for their own needs, but do not want it listed in search engines.. I wanted to change my listing in Yahoo from that old website to my new website but when i have done the request change form, no replies - (done it twice in two months waiting 6 weeks each time).. I have emailed Yahoo alot and have only gotten one reply which really had nothing to do with my question (standard email it seemed).. I've called the number 410 # or 401 whatever it was but never get any answers..
Any suggestions or past experiences on what i should do with this situation? I just payed the 300 back in November and don't want to pay it again right now..
Tonight when i went to fill out the change of request form for the 3rd time because i'm upset they havn't replied or let me know anything, when i put in my old site it tells me the site is not in the directory and when i went to my account area in Yahoo it shows me this when i click on the order #

I have no clue what's going on and can't get an honest reply from anyone but the site still shows up when you search for it in listings (frustrating!)
Saw this forum and figured maybe someone here has gone through something similar and may have some advice on what to do..
Thanks for your time and sorry for the long post :)

Now who knows where this number will take you or what you will get out of it or if they will even assist you but I have a feeling they wont help you much with changing listing for it. They will tell you to pay more money ;) BTW welcome to WebmasterWorld epic1231! :D

Hello,
I'm afraid that you will have to make a separate submission for your URL [.com....] The Yahoo! Business Express fee covers the review of your submitted website, and is not transferrable to another review. The site [.com...] is completely different than
the original site submitted and the fees cannot be transfered. If you are interested in adding [.com...] to the Yahoo! Directory, you will have to submit thru the Business Express program for possible inclusion.
Please see [help.yahoo.com...] for answers to other questions you may have regarding the directory.

I removed the site name because i do not want to spam my website in the thread, but i'm very upset over this. I don't feel it's right to have to spend another 300 to submit this site and remove my other one.
Unforunitly from what i've seen - listing in Yahoo still gets me page views and customers so i guess i'm going to have to relist with them, although if Overture or Google gave me the same amount of business, i would gladly use the ppc engines instead. It's not the matter of the money but the principle of the whole situation that bothers me. But i guess that is how they stay in business - gotta make the money somehow.
Oh well off to spend another 300 to Yahoo for yet another site..
Just wanted to let you guys know the reply i got, as i saw someone else was going through a similiar situation.

If the listing is still driving you traffic and sales, it's quite likely that it's more cost effective for you than PPC. (trying to look on the bright side).
Some other businessess i can see flurish with a PPC engine but for me just getting listed with Yahoo boost's my sales and traffic immensly... The Customer Service actually has improved, i spent a few min's on the phone with one of them the other day and he was telling me how they hired alot of new people and have made serveral new deparments to help get more responses to users inquiries..
Hopefully Yahoo figured out that running a business like they do - they do need a bit more interaction with the people who are giving them their money.. Hopefully their CS issues keep on improving.

-Bill
