Why am I getting Yahoo traffic, but not listed?

Quick question for SE (esp. Yahoo) guru's.

I set up a new site a couple weeks back - it hasn't been picked up by any of the search engines yet.

yet I'm getting 50 to 100 visitors a day from yahoo.

I did a search for the site on yahoo, and can't find it - so how or where are the users on yahoo seeing it?

any ideas why this is happening?

esoteric, do you have access to your log files or statistics programs that show the actually links that brought people to your site? If you do try those links directly, if you don't then now is the time to get access to them all as it is a really good way to see what keywords and such people come to your site from.

Could be google's results being served up from Yahoo's site or a brand new addition to a directory. Logs will show you what you need to know :)

I'm using Statistics Server 5.03

As far as I can see it gives the engine the traffic is from (it says "yahoo") but that's as far as the detail goes...

perhaps i need to try click down further (not sure if that's possible) to find more info on the referring url.

The other option is that you got spidered by Google's freshbot and are ranking for certain words, which show up in Yahoo (from Google).

Yes, 2_much is correct. You are getting traffic from searches provided by Google to Yahoo, not from the Yahoo Directory
