Hi. I've noticed when studying what links the competition has to it's site, i sometimes see yahoo asia, australia etc. Does being listed in the different country search engines and directories help? and is it difficult to get in? Thanks

If you are listed in .com you should be listed in the others. It helps just like any other links.

I used to see a big boost from those links. In fact people used to link to the page in the other directories where their site was listed and they would always count in the link to's.
Recently, however, I think those links have been devalued. If you're in the Yahoo directory you get those links automatically, but don't count on them giving your site a huge boost.
