Yahoo stopped using Google?

Listed with Google but not with Yahoo, AOL, or Netscape

I just noticed a drop off in referrals from Yahoo.

Analysis shows I'm still listed with Google, but have dissappeared from Yahoo, AOL and Netscape is this because of the Inktomi link up?

If I decide to 'pay for inclusion' do I go with Yahoo $299, Inktomi pay per URL, or wait and see what develops?

Any Ideas?

Why pay $299 when you can pay $25 and get the same results. But I'd wait and see how it's going to all play out.

Strange - I'm still seeing Google results in yahoo. I wish they would drop them and incorporate their own directory with a mix of Inktomi really really soon. I'd be too happy!

God, couldnt it just PLEASE go back to directory results...
I think the Ink and Overture factor is going to be overwhelming though, thus decreasing the value even further of the directory...
When choosing between Google and Ink/Overture, I think Google is the lesser evil.

Using my keywords Yahoo, AOL and Netscape produce identical results. I'm not in the top 100! At around position 120 I found an old page I deleted in Aug 2002.

Google still list's me in the top ten, as does Inktomi! (although I never paid anything)

My listings in msn, aol, looksmart, infospace and goto are OK to.

So what I can't figure is who is providing results to Yahoo etc?

Has anyone any ideas?

HMGAB - I couldn't agree more. I wish to God it would go back to using the directory! I have like 10K invested in the dang thing and now am not getting squat for traffic!

I get 100% Google, minus the indented results.

Yup, I get that too searching in Yahoo.com and comparing results with Google.com

I did not try uk or other regional variants of Yahoo

I get the same results with yahoo.com and yahoo.co.uk

Although at the bottom of the page it says 'powered by google' I'm not listed at all, but I am on Google?

Hi Cornwall

Thanx for the message

PR0 for all pages, except for one I moved 6 months ago and replaced with a Javascipt redirect that is PR4.

I'm pretty sure I've been removed, but how do I find out why, and more importantly how do I get back in?

Best Wishes

Steve

>>PR0 for all pages

You will find a lot of threads about this on "site search" also try browsing the Forum Library on the Google Forum

It has been covered many times, and you need to read the lot to see if there is anything in particular you need to ask

Yep. I've just read the superb '26 ways to build a successful site' and 'google faq' in the google library.

I going to clean up and improve my site while I wait to be re-included.

My only concern is have I done something google doesn't like. I can't think of anything...but you never know!

Thanx to everyone who's offered advice, I only been on this site a few days, and I've learnt heaps.

Best Wishes

Steve
