Any recent changes?

I recently got a site listed in Yahoo and I'm wondering how sites get to be listed in the most popular section. Using the site search gave me results that may be outdated and I haven't noticed this being discussed lately.

Do the click throughs from the search results contribute to a sites popularity as well as the click throughs from the directory listings?

Is there any editorial discretion involved?

For those of you that do have a site listed in the most popular section, do you see a difference in the amount of traffic you receive? Or is there any traffic at all from the directory since the change to Google search results?

Hi Coconutz,

There's been some discussion about this, but I've yet to see a conclusive answer to this question.

My observation is that sites that are in the Most Popular section are sites that had high PR and ranking 1-2 months prior to their becoming popular. Yet a few people report having new sites enter directly into the most popular section.

I have seen some sites that I've had as most popular gaining an increase in traffic. Also, this traffic converts well.
