As it is at this moment, directory listed sites seem to have NO advantage over Google's sites.
This better not be a sign of things to come...
I have also tested it with several different proxies, and looks like the overture sponsored listings are showing up differently, depending on where you are located...
Which is a very happy thing for me. Though if Yahoo does pull a switch, I won't be unhappy either, since Inktomi seems to find my stuff & index it even faster than Google's fresh listings. Not always, but it's nice to see something of a race for 'which engine drive the fastest referral to my sites' :)
No, Yahoo.com has not been 100% Google. The directory sites are sometimes given more weight on certain keywords. It is no doubt affected by Google, but...
The directory sites have been "updated" in those keywords I am talking about, on normal search.
Just do a search for a rather prominent keyword, and you will see that Yahoo.com and Google.com results are not a 100% match. At least they are not in my line of business ;-)
Yahoo UK is a different story.
Could it be that Yahoo is pulling fresh listings from Google...they seem to have increased their usage of those in many cases, at least for me.
Not sure? When I first saw this - thought it was an error. As I understand refresh had nothing to do with the monthly archive or normal feeds.
However, Netscape shows the same thing... definitely a new trend.
