Hi,

After a few weeks of playing about, building my links to get my popularity at least to a level 3 on google i was amazed last night to find i ranked at position 1 on both yahoo & google for a combination of 2 keywords.

I recently changed my title on my pages so i can ensure that i know what combination of keywords and descriptions im using to get ranked, these are the titles i look for in the engines.

This morning i am no where to be seen, and am quite lost on why this had happened. Not even listed in 50+ (i gave up after that)..

when i do a search for my site it returns an older page (i.e. the titles are differnet to the ones i saw last night)

It looks like i was listed in at number 1 for only a few hours (it could hve been a few days but i wasnt looking)

How can it be that the engines are now using old pages, when last night i had my lastest pages and the lastest combination..

any idea's

cheers

Lee

Do a search on this site for "everflux"

Hi theleveller,

This is due to what is being called "everflux", as Chiyo mentioned.

Google uses freshly spidered pages to display "fresh" results, specially for non-competitive keyword phrases.

Your site should settled down by next update.

If you want to learn more about Everflux, visit the Google forum and read a few posts there, quite a few mention this.
